I am a strong believer that weight loss should be simple. It’s easier to stick to a weight loss program or routine of it’s simple. It’s very common that people lose motivation on their weight loss journey because the weight loss routine or program they’re trying to follow is overly complicated. Looking and feeling your best shouldn’t be complicated. That’s why I like to devise easy and effective rules for my clients to follow, rules that are so simple that anyone can stick to them and see results. One of those easy to follow weight loss methods I like to teach my clients is what I call the “simple substitution” method.

What is the simple substitution method? It’s when you substitute a typical junk food snack item you always reach for with a nutritious liquid drink. For example, if you’re someone who reaches for cookies, chips, or candy when wanting a snack, then with the simple substitution method you would instead drink a healthy liquid beverage instead, such as this nourishing cinnamon weight loss tea or the weight loss lemonade (recipe below). As long as the calorie intake from your main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) stay the same, over a period of time this method will help you lose a few extra pounds virtually with no effort.

Now let’s take a closer look at the ingredients that will go into making this weight loss lemonade and what their benefits are, as well as how they will nourish your body.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that is necessary for the development and repair of all the tissues in your body. Vitamin C is also needed for the development for collagen, which helps keep your skin tight and firm during weight loss. We’ll give this lemonade’s collagen development capabilities a boost by by adding extra collagen to the drink which will help keep your skin firm during weight loss.

Collagen is a network of proteins in your dermis that keep it tight and is the main support structure for your skin. As weight is lost, specially if it’s a significant amount, the collagen in your skin weakens and  you get extra skin after weight loss. 1 Lemon, juiced

24 oz water

 

I tbsp ginger juice

¼ jalapeno diced and crushed to bring out juices

Paprika to taste

Mix together the juice of one lemon with 24 oz water. Add fresh ginger juice (or finely diced ginger that’s crushed to bring out flavor and juices) and mix. Add salt and paprika to taste. Finish by adding the diced/crushed jalapeno and collagen powder and mix thoroughly.
